Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is received while fully clothed, and involves the use of a feather-light touch designed to affect changes in the deepest tissues of the body, those related with the central nervous system. Through evaluating the inherently rhythmic movement of the cerebrospinal fluid as it circulates in and around the brain and spinal cord, restrictions in the membranes of the craniosacral system can be observed and addressed. Restoring a free and healthy flow to the deepest core of the body is central to healing, and also deeply relaxing.
The conditions that this therapy can help to alleviate are numerous, including, but not limited to: migraines and chronic headaches, TMJ syndrome, depression, learning disabilities, whiplash, back pain, chronic fatique, PTSD, fibromyalgia, and other central nervous system disorders.

First explored in the osteopathic lineage of medicine by Dr. William Sutherland, this science was further studied and developed by the surgeon Dr. John Upledger, who was largely responsible for bringing craniosacral therapy training to healthcare practitioners throughout the world.
